The Korean Table: Japchae & Jeon

When it’s time to entertain guests or celebrate an occasion, many Korean cooks look to japchae, a dish based on stir-fried sweet potato noodles or glass noodles. And nothing goes with japchae like jeon, a pan-fried fritter or pancake that can be either sweet or savory. In this class Jee Hye Kang will teach you how to make several varieties of jeon: 김치전 kimchi jeon; 해물전 haemul jeon with a variety of seafood; 호박전 zucchini jeon, and 화전 sweet dessert jeon with edible flowers. You’ll practice your pancake flipping and round out the meal with 간장양념장 jeon dipping sauce and classic 잡채 japchae (Korean sweet potato noodles with stir-fried vegetables).

All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
