Pamela Arrigada grew up eating dulces chilenos, or Chilean sweet treats, in La Serena on the north coast of Chile, a place where any time is a good time for a dulcecito — a philosophy we can definitely relate to. Join her in this class where you’ll learn the history and techniques for some classic Chilean sweets. You’ll make alfajores de Maicena (a sandy cookie sandwiched with pisco-spiked dulce de leche); chilenitos (crackers sandwiched with manjar and covered in meringue); alfajores del sur de Chile (crackers sandwiched with a raw sugar, roasted flour, and dried fruit filling); and a play on brazo de “rey” (a soft sponge cake roll) filled with lúcuma whipped cream and topped with meringue.
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
