Since she was five years old, Pamela Arriagada has been rolling and stuffing empanadas with her family, creating some of her fondest childhood memories. This quintessential South American delicacy is one of the original on-the-go snacks that are eaten daily and filled with anything you can dream up. Join us in class to learn about the different styles of empanadas across South America, as well as techniques for rolling and stuffing your own at home. On the menu: Chilean empanadas de pino (hot water empanada dough filled with beef, caramelized onions, eggs, olives, and raisins); Bolivian chicken salteñas (empanadas with achiote dough filled with spicy chicken and potato stew); and Argentinian empanadas de queso y membrillo (fried empanadas filled with mozzarella and quince paste).
