Seoul Street Food

Duration: 3 hoursType: In-PersonPrice: $145

Seoul street food put South Korea on the cultural map as a foodie’s destination. Dating back centuries, Korean street food increased in popularity post Korean War as a way to serve up hearty fare to underserved refugees. Now, both locals and tourists alike navigate street side vendors to taste a variety of traditional bites, and Seoul native Jee Hye Kang is here to teach you how to recreate her childhood favorites in your own kitchen. We’ll learn how to make kimbap (깁밥) prepared the traditional way with a variety of different vegetables and proteins, including pickled burdock, shiitake, krab, fishcakes, and more; along with tteokbokki (떡볶이) in a classic spicy sauce with yaechae twigim (fried sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and perilla leaves). Also on the menu is the iconic fish cake skewers with a savory broth (어묵국), and we’ll round out the meal with a dessert tteok, pan-fried and drizzled with honey and sesame seeds.

Cancellation Policy

All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
