While we’re all familiar with Chinese-American cuisine, Jee-Hye Kang grew up with a different set of Chinese-inspired Korean dishes. Influenced by Chinese immigrants in Incheon as well as from the nearby Shandong province, this hybrid cuisine offers up dishes that have become distinctly their own. In this class, Jee-Hye will teach you how to make some of her favorite dishes: 새우 짜장밥 sewoo jjajangbap (rice served over a shrimp and black bean sauce); 해물 짬뽕 haemul jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup); and 가지깐풍기 eggplant kkanppungi (spicy stir-fried eggplant).
