Hot-from-the-tawa (griddle) flatbreads are a staple of Indian households and can elevate the simplest of meals. Join Shri Repp for an introduction to the three types of Indian flatbreads, and the techniques for perfecting them in your own home. You’ll learn how to make spiced keerai chapathi, a whole wheat flatbread charred and speckled with spinach; aloo paratha, a decadent potato and herb-stuffed flatbread; and malabar parotta, a flakey, ghee-laminated flatbread. You'll tear and dip the flatbreads into a tomato and onion egg masala and dahi (thick Indian yogurt).
