Vietnamese Dumplings

Duration: 3½ hoursType: In-PersonPrice: $135

There are few dumplings in the world that we wouldn’t line up around the block for, and there’s a special kind of magic wrapped up in Michelle Nguyen’s Vietnamese dumplings that you have to experience for yourself. In this class you’ll learn to make rice noodle dough for banh it tran (sticky rice dumplings with mung beans and pork) that you’ll shape, steam, and devour with pickled daikon and carrots and fried shallots. Then you’ll make banh bot loc, the chewy, clear dumplings made with tapioca flour and stuffed with a savory shrimp filling, and enjoy your dumpling feast with homemade scallion oil and nuoc cham.

Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.

Cancellation Policy

All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
