With its distinctive caramelized, creme brulee-like top, pastéis de nata are easily Portugal’s favorite dessert. Legend says they were created in the 13th century by monks in Lisbon, as a way to use up egg yolks separated from the egg whites that were used for laundry. A star was born, and you can now find versions of this treat around the world. Join Vindi Rathnayake as she teaches you the history of this classic treat, along with some contemporary versions to get your creative juices bubbling. You’ll make sheets of puff pastry that you’ll shape into a tableful of sweets: traditional vanilla and cinnamon custard pasteis de nata; chocolate pasteis de nata; passion fruit pasteis de nata; and coconut pasteis de nata.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
