Fabulous Thai takeout is one of the many things that makes Seattle a great city. Soy Dara spent her youth working in some of the best local Thai restaurants, and developed a deep love of the crowd pleasing dishes they served. Join her in class where she’ll teach you about the Indian, Malay, and Muslim influences on one of Thailand’s favorite curries: massaman. You’ll make from-scratch massaman curry paste, and use it to build the rich flavors of massaman beef curry. You’ll round out the meal with a variety of appetizers and sides that no Thai takeout meal is complete without: homemade roti bread, chicken satay, steamed jasmine rice, and Thai fresh rolls with peanut dipping sauce.
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
