Temaki: Hand-Rolled Sushi

Duration: TBDType: In-PersonPrice: $TBD

We’re super excited to welcome local chef Sun Hong to show us how to create delicious sushi with high-quality seafood. Sun will teach us how to choose, store, and prepare fresh seafood, basic knife skills, how to properly make sushi rice, and how to assemble hand-rolls. On the menu: Many conical and cylindrical shaped hand-rolls with whatever seafood is freshest that day, as well as green onions, shiso, marinated ikura (salmon roe), cucumber, umeboshi (pickled plums), shiitake, and avocado. You’ll round out the meal with how to make doenjang soup (miso soup) with homemade dashi stock.

Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.

Cancellation Policy

All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
