Whether you’re dreaming of dining at a sidewalk café or picnicking in the countryside, chef Bruce Naftaly knows a thing or two about how to bring French cooking to your own table. Known as one of the fathers of Northwest cuisine, his seasonal take on French classical cooking gave us Le Gourmand - the powerhouse French restaurant that graced Ballard for years. In this class Bruce will teach you how to turn our bounty of Pacific Northwest summer produce into zucchini and mint soup; roasted tomato and duxelles-filled crepes with gooseberry and dill sauce; roast duck breast with black currant sauce with homemade cassis; classic créme brulée with brandied raspberries.
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
