The world loves delicious fried dough, and Poland makes one of the tastiest stuffed doughnuts around – paczki. In anticipation of Lent, making paczki started as a way to empty the larders of any eggs, butter, sugar, and any other “forbidden” ingredients before Fat Thursday (yes…Thursday in Poland!). Luckily the rules have relaxed and paczki can now be found year round in Poland and other heavily Polish-populated areas. Join us in class where Marianna Stepniewski will teach you how to make classic paczki dough, and how to turn them into treats worthy of celebration. On the menu: raspberry-glazed paczki filled with raspberry rosehip jam; vanilla-glazed paczki filled with spiced prune butter; chocolate-glazed malted chocolate custard-filled paczki; and citrus-glazed paczki with lemon poppyseed cream.
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
