Palestinian cuisine is most famous for its celebratory, communal nature, but the flavorful dishes of Palestine are perfectly attainable for a home cook. The Pantry is excited to welcome Suzanne Husseini, chef and author of Modern Flavors of Arabia, for a class highlighting her favorite Palestinian comfort foods. Whether you’re cooking for a crowd or preparing a weeknight dinner, she’ll give you the confidence to make classic dishes embedded with the story of their terroir. On the menu: lemony lentil soup; fattet beitinjan (roasted eggplant with minced lamb and citrus yogurt sauce); Palestinian spoon salad; and hareeseh (semolina cake with rose syrup).
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
