In this hands-on workshop, Emily Tzeng of Local Color Farm and Fiber will teach you the basics of fiber dyeing using natural dyes that can be found in your very own kitchen! We’ll explore the diversity of color that can be created using avocados, pomegranates, fennel and carrot greens, with a little indigo dyeing thrown in. You’ll learn about the history of dyeing, how to prepare materials, and how to create a range of colors. This class will be accompanied by a light meal featuring the produce used in class, and you’ll go home with freshly dyed linen napkins.
