Layer Cakes Workshop

Julia Child proclaimed that, “A party without cake is just a meeting”, and we wholeheartedly agree! In this workshop, Vindi Rathnayake will teach you multiple techniques for mixing cake layers, how to make a variety of fillings, and how to customize them to your own tastes. You’ll learn the art of making real swiss meringue buttercream and then go through the steps to slice, stack, fill, crumb coat, frost, and decorate a layer cake. One the menu: chocolate Earl Grey cake with passionfruit caramel and chocolate buttercream; toasted walnut cake with salty maple buttercream; and vanilla bean buttermilk cake with rhubarb preserves and raspberry buttercream.


Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
