Longtime Chef Bruce Naftaly and owner of Le Gourmand knows a thing or two about the comforts of French cooking. Known as one of the father’s of Northwest cuisine, his local take on French classical cooking gave us the powerhouse French restaurant that graced Ballard for years. Join Bruce as he steps into our little Ballard kitchen to share his love of food and cooking. On the menu: Soupe au céleri-rave (celery root soup with cognac); salsifis au gratin (salsify gratin with comte cheese); filet de truite saumonée pochée aux champignons sauvages (poached steelhead filet with a wild mushroom sauce); and sorbet de coings et poire (quince and pear sorbet).
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
