Field Trip: Natural Dyeing with Local Color Farm and Fiber

Duration: 4 hoursType: In-PersonPrice: $150

Curious about natural dyes? Then come spend the day with Emily Tzeng at Local Color Farm and Fiber, her working farm in the Puyallup Valley, and learn the basics of natural dyeing. We will begin the day harvesting dye plants from their dye plant field, and then spend the afternoon learning how to use them in a variety of ways. You’ll get an introduction to the process of using plant-based dyes on protein fibers, such as wool and silk, and discuss strategies for implementing your own dye garden. Come away with an eco-printed bandana, a fresh indigo-dyed silk scarf, and a set of naturally dyed napkins!

Cancellation Policy

All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
