Tucked away on the western region of India known as the Malabar Coast, the state of Kerala is known for its coffee and spice plantations. It’s the food Esha Bhandarkar grew up cooking with her mother, and she dreams of lazy days coasting along the palm tree-lined backwaters on a houseboat, complete with a thatched roof and kitchen that churns out amazing meals, featuring seafood pulled directly from the lake. Join her in this special class, where she’ll teach you how to make some of her favorite Kerala dishes. On the menu: njandu moilee (crab curry in a delicate turmeric and coconut curry); chemmeen roast (stir-fried prawns in a spicy, black pepper masala); manga achar (pickled mango); takkali (Kerala-style onion and tomato raita with coconut oil); and steamed basmati rice.

All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
