An early evening drink is common the world over, but the Aperitivo hour is a truly unique way to slow down, enjoy a botanical-rich cocktail, and drift slowly into dinner time. Join Anna Wallace as she leads you through a component tasting of the botanicals and flavor profiles of these beloved spirits. You’ll do a deep dive into Vermouth, Campari, and Pastis, and learn how to turn them into praiseworthy aperitifs. On the menu: a vermouth spritz with orange bitters; a Porto Tónico! With white Port, Salers Gentiane Liqueur, and citrus; a Mi-To Sour with Campari, and dry Vermouth, made Boston-Sour style; and Death in the Evening, a modern adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s infamous favorite Death in the Afternoon. All of your aperitifs will be paired with the tasty bites to compliment the flavors of each cocktail.
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
