Sign-painting is one of oldest trades around, shaping our commercial landscape and permeating our everyday lives with handmade works of art. Kirsten Bauer, a multidisciplinary artist and sign painter living in Portland, Oregon, learned the craft at the Los Angeles Trade-Tech Sign Graphics program, the only formal sign-painting training program offered in the United States. This Fall she joins the Pantry team for an extended 2-Day workshop, where she’ll teach you the essential elements of traditional sign painting. You’ll get an introduction to block letter construction, basic brushstroke and brush lettering technique, sign layout, color theory, and decorative elements. Students will leave the workshop with a custom sign, as well as an understanding of the skills that go into hand painted signage! This class is great for beginners as well as those with painting experience, and all equipment will be provided.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
