The Taiwanese Bakery

Duration: 3 hoursType: In-PersonPrice: $140

While Taiwanese pastries have experienced a recent boom of popularity in Seattle and other cities across America, these Western-inspired bakeries have been popular in Taiwan since the 1950’s. With their charming presentation and subtle sweetness, these cakes, breads, and cookies fuse East Asian tastes with European baking techniques to create something truly special. Join Rosalie Cass in class to make pork sung roll cake (green onion chiffon roll cake) filled with Kewpie mayonnaise and Taiwanese dried pork floss; taro roll cake, a chiffon roll cake with a taro cream filling; and both vanilla and chocolate Taiwanese macarons.
