Hungarian Comfort Food

Duration: 3 hoursType: In-PersonPrice: $140

Often referred to as the “spiciest food in Europe", mostly for its frequent use of paprika, Hungarian cuisine is a comforting mix of Eastern and Central European food traditions. Tired of watered down versions of the Hungarian dishes he grew up with, in this class, Stefan Milne will introduce you to this under-represented cuisine (and his love for good paprika!). You’ll learn how to make paprikás csirke (chicken paprikash) with nokedli (egg noodles); lángos (fried flatbread topped with whipped sheep’s cheese and herbs); káposztasaláta (marinated cabbage salad with caraway); and túrógombóc (sweet farmer’s cheese dumplings with apricot compote).

Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.

Cancellation Policy

All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
