Hawaiian Poke Bowls

Duration: 3 hoursType: In-PersonPrice: $140

We might not be able to fly to Hawaii as often as we’d like, but there’s no reason we can’t learn to party like we’re already there. Hawaii local Tracy Matsue Loeffelholz will be leading this class on how to prepare one of Hawaii's most iconic dishes: the poke bowl. You’ll learn about the history of poke, as well as how to source, select, and prepare fish. On the menu: shoyu ahi poke with sweet onion, fried shallots, and ponzu; rayu salmon poke with chili crisp, quick-pickled ginger, and macadamia nuts; and tofu poke with asparagus, ginger, and sesame. You’ll round out all that deliciousness with steamed rice, freshly made seaweed sunomono (cucumber salad) and shrimp salad with spicy mayo.

Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.

Cancellation Policy

All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
