Dating back to the 15th–16th centuries, when Northern Thailand was under Burmese rule, and khao soi said to have been created by Chinese-Muslim traders who were traveling along the old spice routes. In the present day, Thai khao soi is known the world over for its rich, sweet and spicy coconut curry broth and delicious egg noodles, both boiled and fried. Accompaniments such as pickled mustard greens, thinly sliced shallots, cilantro, and a lime wedge are simple, but elevate the dish to the next level. Join Soy Dara in this class where you’ll make: naam prik gaeng phet (red curry paste); fresh ba mee khai (yellow egg noodles); and pak gad dong (pickled mustard greens); that you’ll turn into khao soi naam gai (khao soi curry with chicken leg). You’ll enjoy the fruits of your labor with yum som o (Thai pomelo salad) and a sweet and refreshing Thai iced tea.

We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
