The cold days of winter deserve the warmest of comfort foods and the coziest of gatherings. In Palestine, that all centers around maftoul, a traditional Palestinian couscous, steamed to perfection with olive oil and broth. Paired with tender roast chicken and crowned with a sauce made from tomato, onions, and garbanzo beans, this dish is the ultimate in winter comfort. You’ll enjoy your maftoul with hwerneh bil labaneh (mustard greens fermented with labneh); adas mudamas (mashed brown lentils with garlic, lemon, and an array of aromatic spices and herbs); crispy onions; and freshly made pita bread. You’ll finish the meal with asaba' zeinab (fried semolina macarons bathed in orange blossom syrup).
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
