Food always tastes better when you make it yourself, and in this class for new and curious cooks, Renée Beaudoin will teach you how to create classic dishes, making every ingredient from scratch. You’ll learn how to roast like a pro as you make crispy skin chicken with slow-roasted onions and sourdough that you’ll slather with homemade butter infused with roasted garlic and thyme. You’ll master the loaded potato with smashed sweet potatoes with black pepper crème fraîche, thick cut bacon, and chives, and you’ll make homemade dijon-style mustard that you’ll turn into a classic tarragon vinaigrette for a winter greens salad. You’ll finish the meal by learning some baking fundamentals as you whip up a grapefruit pound cake with hibiscus pink-peppercorn glaze.
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
