In the chilly months of winter, comfort food is where we turn to warm ourselves, whether for a big weekend gathering or a weeknight family meal. Nadia Tommalieh is the curator of a special kind of Palestinian hospitality, and when you’re seated at her table, you can’t help but forget the cold outside. Join us in class to make kobez arabi (fresh made pita bread) that you’ll use for baked arayes (seasoned ground meat and pomegranate molasses in a crispy pita pockets); laban bil na’na (mint yogurt sauce); mshaat with tatbeeleh (fried cauliflower and herb fritters); and shorabet freekeh bil krema (creamy freekeh, corn, and herb soup).
Please note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten-free, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.
All class and event purchases at The Pantry are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you are always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.
We understand that plans can change. When possible, we are happy to offer a credit or a transfer to a future event if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist. Because our classes are small and ingredient-driven, this is not guaranteed and depends on demand and timing. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for credit or transfer, as we are typically unable to fill those spots on short notice.
