Tonight we do the cooking! On the menu: Marie Rutherford‘s Italian Farmhouse supper. Marie’s mom is from Italy, and every week they’d trek out to the country to have Sunday dinner with the Italian family. These are some of the dishes they’d share, sealed in her memories. She now has the book they often cooked from, Italian Farmhouse, dirty and dogeared.
Pork loin and tonnato with sugar snaps, radishes, spring peas, and sage breadcrumbs
Blistered cherry tomatoes with roasted zucchini, almond, capers, and fried lemon
Herbed cranberry beans with creme fraiche and thick-cut olive oil crostini
Asparagus with parmesan butter, anchovy, and spring onion
Courgette cake with whipped mascarpone and candied lemon and pistachio
The meal can be made vegetarian by replacing the pork chops with roasted cauliflower with tomatoes, herbs, and olives, and replacing the anchovies with with Calabrian chiles and preserved lemon. If you would like a vegetarian meal, please select that option when you register.
Each ticket is for 2 generous servings, packaged family-style, ready to be picked up between 4:30-6pm. The meal is fully prepared, but may require reheating when you get home (we’ll provide instructions for how to do that). We are unable to provide meal delivery.
If you like to sip wine while you feast, consider adding a lovingly paired bottle with your supper! The pairings for this meal are:
Red Wine: Tomâs Cusiné, Llebre, 2018, Tempranillo blend
White Wine: Domaine de la Foliette, 2018, 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Rosé: Chateau Haut-Blanville Rosé, 2019
