Terroir is a term regularly used by wine lovers and makers to describe the growing conditions that create each wine’s unique flavors. Join April Pogue as she teaches up what terroir actually means, along with exercises teaching you how to pick apart specific aspects of wine influenced by terroir, just like the professionals do. You’ll learn how rivers influence the growth of grapes, what makes it possible to grow wine in barren and inhospitable environments, and more. You’ll taste wines from Spain, Italy, and South America whose terroir benefits from unique geographic circumstances involving soil, climate, sun exposure, and row orientation.
