Tonight we do the cooking! On the menu: MICHELLE NGUYENS‘ Escape to the East supper. Asian cuisine has always been intertwined with symbolism to encourage good fortune for one’s family, and Michelle dreamed up this meal to nourish us all this spring. The 5-spice rub brings in the elements of fire, earth, metal, water, and wood, and the long noodles and long beans give hope for longevity.
5 spice-roasted duck legs with green garlic, Chinese broccoli, and stir-fried wonton noodles
Grilled long beans with coriander-honey glaze and crispy shallots
Crispy fried enoki mushrooms with Sichuan walnut shiso pesto
Crunchy a choy-tea leaf salad with pickled ginger, peanuts, and lime vinaigrette
Sichuan pepper-scented chocolate pudding with caramel puffed rice
The meal can be made vegetarian by replacing the duck legs with fried 5 spice tofu with green garlic, Chinese broccoli, and stir fried wonton noodles. If you would like a vegetarian meal, please select that option when you register.
Each ticket is for 2 generous servings, packaged family-style, ready to be picked up between 4:30-6pm. The meal is fully prepared, but may require reheating when you get home (we’ll provide instructions for how to do that). We are unable to provide meal delivery.
