April 17 – Hawaiian Poke

We might not be able to fly to Hawaii any time soon, but there’s no reason we can’t learn to party like we’re already there. Jay Guerrero will be leading this class on how to prepare one of Hawaii’s most popular dishes: poke. You’ll learn how to source, select, and butcher the freshest fish as you make shoyu albacore poke with sweet onions and avocado; shrimp poke with scallions and from-scratch spicy mayo; seaweed salad; and pickled cucumbers.

This is a live, hands-on cooking class held in your kitchen via Zoom. Class is meant to be as interactive as it would be at our table, with the instructor teaching you how to prepare each recipe. There are two options for gathering ingredients for this class! You can shop for your own ingredients or we are happy to pre-measure ingredients and assemble them into a 4-serving kit. And if you like to sip wine while you cook, consider adding a lovingly paired bottle with your kit!
