Tonight we do the cooking! On the menu: Becky Selengut’s A Story of Spice supper. For Becky, no one dances with spices more elegantly than Indian cuisine, making it one of her favorites. Growing up in Northern New Jersey, with the smells of spices coming from her friend’s kitchens, it’s no coincidence that those flavors found their way into her cooking. While this meal is far from authentic, it no doubt leans heavily on how Indian recipes have inspired her own cuisine.
Coriander and turmeric-spiced lamb meatballs with fenugreek-steeped creamy tomato and cashew sauce
Charred asparagus with lime and black pepper vinaigrette, pickled mustard seed, and crispy curry leaf
Roasted carrots with black sesame oil and fried ginger
Yogurt raita with spring herbs
Saffron rice with cinnamon, cardamom, and pickled currants
Green mango pickle with chiles and fennel-spiced coconut oil
Cardamom rice pudding with toasted almonds and pistachios
The meal can be made vegetarian by replacing the meatballs with spiced potato dumplings. If you would like a vegetarian meal, please select that option when you register.
Each ticket is for 2 generous servings, packaged family-style, ready to be picked up any time between 4:30-6pm. The meal is fully prepared, but may require reheating when you get home (we’ll provide instructions for how to do that). We are unable to provide meal delivery.
