We are so excited to host you in our upcoming class! One week before class we will email everyone the complete shopping list and then a few days before class we will email the detailed recipe packet and a Zoom link. Until then, below is a list of ingredients and equipment that you’ll need.

On the menu:
Lu rou fan (soy braised pork belly) over steamed rice
Pickled daikon radishes
Cong you bing (scallion pancakes)

Shopping List:

shiitake mushrooms (fresh or dried)
daikon radish

Dry Goods / Pantry:
short grain rice
lard or neutral oil such as safflower or grapeseed
neutral oil such as safflower or grapeseed
shaoxing wine (or dry sherry)
light soy sauce – this is regular soy sauce, not low sodium
dark soy sauce
kosher salt
black vinegar
rice vinegar (or substitute white vinegar)
all purpose flour (this includes flour for dusting)

skin-on pork belly
eggs (optional)

star anise
cinnamon stick
bay leaves
Sichuan peppercorns (or substitute half black peppercorns and half coriander seed)

Sharp chef’s knife
Cutting board
Pot with tight fitting lid or rice cooker
Medium pot for lu rou fan
Small pot for pickling liquid
Piece of cheesecloth (8 x 11 inches)
Strainer or slotted spoon
Wooden spoon or spatula x 2
Large heat proof bowl
Small heat proof bowl
Rolling pin
Bowl or cup for dusting flour
Small bowl for dipping sauce
Saute pan for pancakes
Bowl for radishes
