Shopping List:

Produce:
lemon
oranges

Dairy:
unsalted butter
cream cheese
buttermilk
heavy cream

Dry Goods / Pantry:
light or dark brown sugar
maple syrup
all-purpose flour (plus a little extra for dusting)
A little bit of oil (doesn’t matter what kind), to oil the bowl
powdered sugar
pure vanilla extract
pecans (pecan pieces are great)
sugar
instant yeast
kosher salt
Flake salt, for finishing

Protein:
eggs

Spices:
ground cinnamon
coarsely ground cardamom (finely ground will also work!)
coarsely ground black peppercorn (finely ground will also work!)

Equipment List:
9×13 baking pan
Thermometer
Whisk
A few spatulas
Microplane
Rolling pin
Bench scraper (or a sharp chef’s knife)
Small saucepan (to heat the buttermilk)
Medium saucepan (to make the pecan goo)
A baking sheet (and enough room in your freezer for the baking sheet)
A ziploc bag (to hold the rolls that you’ll bake later)
Parchment paper
Plastic wrap
A clean kitchen towel
Stand mixer with the dough hook attachment (or a large bowl and some patience)
A large bowl (for the dough to rise)
Two small bowls (for the cardamom filling and for the cinnamon filling)
Medium bowl (for the cream citrus frosting)
A few spoons, for tasting along the way!
