We are so excited to host you in our upcoming class! One week before class we will email everyone the complete shopping list and then a few days before class we will email the detailed recipe packet and a Zoom link. Until then, below is a list of ingredients and equipment that you’ll need.

On the menu:
Nasi goreng (Malaysian fried rice with fried egg)
Kerabu (coconut and chili salad with bean sprouts, red onions, and cucumber)
Sambal ikan bilis (spicy peanut snack with crispy anchovies, shallots, lemongrass, and lime leaf)

Shopping List:
garlic cloves
Thai chilis or Fresno chilis
Persian cucumbers or English cucumber
red onion
bean sprouts
lime leaves
lemongrass stalk


Dry Goods / Pantry:
vegetable oil
rice, either calrose or jasmine rice
desiccated shredded coconut
fish sauce
raw peanuts, skin on if possible
Kosher salt
shrimp paste (Belacan)
dried shallots
kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
Sambal oelek
ikan bilis (dried small anchovies)

Large frying pan for nasi goreng
Medium fry pan for toasting coconut and cooking sambal ikan bilis

Small food processor or mortar and pestle
