We are so excited to host you in our upcoming class! One week before class we will email everyone the complete shopping list and then a few days before class we will email the detailed recipe packet and a Zoom link. Until then, below is a list of ingredients and equipment that you’ll need.

On the menu:
Kofta bil bandora (baked kofta with potatoes in tomato sauce)
Ruz bil she’iryeh (vermicelli rice)
Muhalabia bil bortokal (milk and orange pudding)

Shopping List:

Produce:
oranges
Russet potatoes
Roma or on-the-vine tomatoes
onions
parsley

Dairy:
milk (you can use either whole or 2% milk)

Dry Goods / Pantry:
pistachios
cornstarch
sugar
tomato sauce
orange blossom water (ma’zaher)
pomegranate molasses
semolina vermicelli noodles (I like Ziyad or Tazah brand)
basmati rice
extra-virgin olive oil

fine sea salt

Protein:
mixed ground, lamb, beef, or a combination of the two

Spices:
ground allspice
ground cumin
ground cinnamon
ground cloves
freshly ground black pepper
Aleppo pepper or chili flakes (optional)

Equipment List:
Chopping board
Chef’s knife
Large mixing bowl for meat
Food processor (optional)
Aluminum foil
Oven safe 9×13 pan or 14” round baking dish
Medium casserole or small pot for sauce and dessert
Medium size pot for rice
Medium bowl to soak rice
Measuring cup for water
Spatula
Wood or silicone mixing spoon
Whisk
Vegetable peeler or paring knife
4 individual bowls or cups for dessert (clear cups or bowls work very well)
