Join Laura Pyles as she explores a new (to us) pizza: the Grandma Slice! The Grandma pie has its roots in Sicily via Long Island, and in this class you’ll learn how to make this crispy square style, using either a sourdough starter or a pre-ferment. On the menu: classic Grandma pizza with mozzarella, fresh tomato sauce, and basil; white pizza with fontina and roasted garlic; and insalata mista with treviso, fennel, and cherry tomatoes. If you like things on the spicier side, you’ll make fresh garlic chili oil to drizzle on your hot-from-the-oven slices.
This is a live, hands-on cooking class held in your kitchen via Zoom. Class is meant to be as interactive as it would be at our table, with the instructor teaching you how to prepare each recipe. Each class ticket is for one kitchen, and we welcome group cooking on the same screen. All recipes are designed for four servings.
