Exploring West Africa: Jollof Rice – January

If you’ve ever wondered from where the New Orleans dish jambalaya can trace its roots, you can follow it back to its ancestral homeland and to one of the most popular dishes of West Africa: Jollof Rice. Like jambalaya, or Spanish paella, jollof rice is celebratory food and can be adorned with whatever is local and seasonal. Join Tina Fahnbulleh of Gold Coast Ghal Kitchen as she guides you through the history of West African food while cooking up a feast of jollof rice with chicken, and shrimp and spiced cabbage slaw.

This is a live, hands-on cooking class held in your kitchen via Zoom. Class is meant to be as interactive as it would be at our table, with the instructor teaching you how to prepare each recipe. Each class ticket is for one kitchen, and we welcome group cooking on the same screen. All recipes are designed for four servings.
