Japanese Bar Food – November

Izakayas dot the streets of Tokyo, welcoming visitors with the promise of sake and delicious snacks. In this class,  Jay Guerrero will teach you how to recreate some of these dishes in your own home. You learn about the history of the izakaya as you make asari no sakamushi (sake-steamed clams with butter and soy); negima yakitori (grilled chicken and scallion skewers) glazed in mirin and sake; goma-ae (fall greens in a sesame dressing), and grilled edamame with sea salt.

This is a live, hands-on cooking class held in your kitchen via Zoom. Class is meant to be as interactive as it would be at our table, with the instructor teaching you how to prepare each recipe. Each class ticket is for one kitchen, and we welcome group cooking on the same screen. All recipes are designed for four servings.

All classes are listed in Pacific Daylight Time.
