Long in the culinary shadow of its larger neighbor to the west, Taiwanese cuisine is only recently being recognized for its unique blend of Chinese, Japanese, and native flavors. In this class Matthew Bumpas will take you on a tour of this fascinating country while teaching you how to prepare some of their most classic dishes. On the menu: e zai jian (crunchy oyster omelette with sweet and sour sauce); hu jiao bing (pork buns with black pepper and scallions); san bei ji (chicken cooked with sesame, ginger, chiles, and basil); and tang yuan (black sesame dumplings in osmanthus flower soup).
