Shaped by Iran’s central position on the Silk Road, Persian cuisine has familiar elements from Indian, Chinese, Arabic, and Eastern European cooking, yet it has a character that is completely its own. In this class, Omid Roustaei will show you how to prepare a summer meal flavored with delicate Silk Road spices. You’ll make khoresht-e albaloo ba gusht (sour cherry and lamb meatballs in saffron broth; polo ba tahdig (saffron rice with crispy crust); and kayk yazdi (cardamom and rosewater cakes).
This is a live, hands-on cooking class held in your kitchen via Zoom. Omid will be teaching you how to prepare each recipe, with a Class Lead supporting you throughout. Class is meant to be as interactive as it would be at our table, and we are keeping class sizes small to help facilitate this. Our online classes are great for groups, so each ticket is for one screen, with recipes designed for four servings. All classes are listed in Pacific Standard Time. **For fundraiser classes: This class is a fundraiser for World Relief Seattle, an organization that was hand picked by Omid for their work towards envisioning every local refugee and vulnerable immigrant welcomed by community, rooted in community, and empowered for community.

Don’t feel like shopping? There is an option to include an ingredients kit for your class, where we’ll prep all the necessary ingredients, and all you have to do is pick it up from our garden the day before class. If you would like an ingredients kit, please add both the class and the kit to your shopping cart. Please be sure that you select the same date for your ingredient kit and class! If you are already registered for this class and would like to purchase an ingredients kit, please send us an email, up to one week before class.
Two days before class we will email everyone the detailed recipe packet and a Zoom link. Your ingredient kit can be picked up between 10-7pm the day before your class.
