Spring Ikebana Flower Workshop

Spring Ikebana Flower Workshop

Ikebana is regarded as not only a form of art, but as a contemplative activity, so this workshop aims to be a respite in your week. Working with the beauty of our Pacific Northwest color palette and local farmed and foraged blooms, Renée Beaudoin will show you how to compose arrangements that celebrate both the simplicity and complexity of the seasons. We will examine all stages of the flower, how to work with budding stems, branch cuts, and the lines of a plant, as well as the technical aspects of working with a Japanese floral kenzan, harvesting techniques, bringing edible elements into arranging, and creating expressive shapes. Everyone will enjoy tea and snacks while they create and leave with their own floral kenzan, locally-made ceramic vessel, and arrangement.
