Join Renee Beaudoin as she teaches you how to turn your summer berry and stone fruit harvest into homemade jam! You’ll learn about flavor customization, the role of sugar, the stages of jam cooking, and how to test your jam for doneness. In class we will be making batches of plum jam with star anise, midsummer brambleberry jam, as well as turn some leftover fruit into a classic British berry shrub. For those who have always been curious to try or at least see the water bath canning method, you will have an opportunity to do so, as well as learn how to make a long cold infusion with your berry shrub.
This is a live, hands-on cooking class held in your kitchen via Zoom. Class is meant to be as interactive as it would be at our table, with the instructor teaching you how to prepare each recipe. Each class ticket is for one kitchen, and we welcome group cooking on the same screen. All recipes are designed for four servings.
Two days before class we will email everyone the detailed recipe packet and a Zoom link. All classes are listed in Pacific Daylight Time.
