Kids Camp: Exploring the Mediterranean through Food and Art (Ages 11-14)

Join The Pantry and Space to Create for summer camp! This year we will be taking a trip around the Mediterranean Sea. Each morning will be spent cooking food from a different country, while each afternoon will be spent making art. We'll start off in Morocco, where we'll make chicken tagine with figs and honey. On Tuesday we'll visit Spain, where we'll make two different types of empanadas, and cinnamon ice cream. In Italy, we'll make tagliatelle with Italian sausage, peas, and ricotta and grilled zucchini with fresh herbs and shaved Grana Padano. In Greece we'll try our hand at making authentic spinach spanakopita, and our last stop will be in Lebanon, where we'll make homemade pita, grilled vegetable fattoush salad, and of course, baklava.

In the afternoons, we will continue our tour of the Mediterranean through art. We will create projects inspired by Moroccan lanterns, Lebanese carpets, and Greek pottery, as well as creating art inspired by the great works of Leonardo Da Vinci and Pablo Picasso. Projects will include painting, drawing, and collaging. Join us for this fun and enriching week! This camp is for ages: 11-14.
