Tired of flying to Japan to eat at your favorite yakitori stand? (Aren’t we all.) Then come to The Pantry and learn how to make perfectly grilled and seasoned skewers at home! Asher Ramras will teach you how to break down a whole chicken to make shiokojiyaki (marinated chicken breast); negima (chicken thighs with Welsh onion); torikawa (crispy chicken skin); and tsukune (chicken meatballs with soy cured egg yolk). To accompany your skewers, we will make yakionigiri (grilled rice balls); shishito peppers with shiitake mushrooms; tare (yakitori sauce); toasted salt, and kombu salt.
