If there is one thing that the Pacific Northwest is known for, it’s our fantastic bounty of fresh seafood. In this class, “Good Fish” author Becky Selengut will teach you about one of our favorites: scallops. You’ll learn about the different types of scallops, how to source sustainably and select for quality, how to butter baste, and how to cook to perfection as you make seared scallops with carrot-cashew cream, quick pickled carrots, and garden herbs; and scallop crudo with citrus, pistachios, mint, and crispy capers.

This is a live, hands-on cooking class held in your kitchen via Zoom. Becky will be teaching you how to prepare each recipe, with a Class Lead supporting you throughout. Class is meant to be as interactive as it would be at our table, and we are keeping class sizes small to help facilitate this. Our online classes are great for groups, so each ticket is for one screen, with recipes designed for four servings. All classes are listed in Pacific Standard Time. This class is a fundraiser for The Lavender Rights Project, an organization that was hand picked by Becky for their work towards community building, research, and political action addressing the crisis of violence against Black Trans people.

Don’t feel like shopping? There is an option to include an ingredients kit for your class, where we’ll prep all the necessary ingredients, and all you have to do is pick it up from our garden the day before class. If you would like an ingredients kit, please add both the class and the kit to your shopping cart. Please be sure that you select the same date for your ingredient kit and class! If you are already registered for this class and would like to purchase an ingredients kit, please send us an email, up to one week before class.

Two days before class we will email everyone the detailed recipe packet and a Zoom link. Your ingredient kit can be picked up between 10-7pm the day before your class.
